Job Description:
Design and develop quantitative utility (trading) that enables a
portfolio management team to conduct rebalancing portfolios and to
generate trades to meet the target portfolio. Design and backtest investment
strategies and conduct detailed performance analyses to study strategy behavior
in different market environments. Deploy efficient investigation
and management of large data sets and third-party data sources.
Create analytical tools and data interfaces while leveraging various
sources of market and in-house data. Work with chief economist to conduct
quarterly economic survey and provide internal house view of economic
outlook. Liaise with agencies and international clients and manage
investment- related data requests. Build and maintain a financial time
series database for pricing, economic, and fundamental data. Develop and
maintain existing code library to support the investment research and process.
Track academic and industry-research material for idea generation.
Design databases and tools for use in quantitative research. Analyze
global capital markets and provide timely updates related to portfolio
performance and risk management. Function as a part of the SAS fund
management team, providing research and views on asset allocation strategies in
particular, as well as positioning more broadly. Requirements: Master's degree in Finance, Applied Mathematics,
Financial Engineering, Economics or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) plus 1 year of experience defining asset
allocation for in-house funds. Also requires: (1) Demonstrated expertise
building quantitative tools and performing analysis including portfolio
optimization using MATLAB, factor analysis for equities, and developing risk
models for multi-asset portfolios; (2) Demonstrated expertise building and
maintaining databases and managing large data sets to conduct investment
research using MATLAB; (3) Demonstrated expertise analyzing global capital
markets using Bloomberg and Thompson Reuters; (4) Demonstrated expertise
interfacing with portfolio managers in boutique companies to analyze funds; (5)
Demonstrated expertise performing quantitative analysis for equity research
utilizing methodologies including price-to-earnings, free cash flow, and
EBITDA;(6) Demonstrated expertise performing daily portfolio management
including recommending trades based on fundamental analysis; and, and
(7) Demonstrated expertise utilizing Excel VBA to perform data
